Terms and Conditions

By requesting services or placing an order with John Edward Web Design you agree to and are bound by these terms and conditions.

Definitions

The Client: The company or individual requesting the services of John Edward Web Design

John Edward Web Design: Hereafter known as The Designer.

General

The Designer reserves the right to change his prices at anytime, without prior notice.  Any web projects in progress will not be affected.

The Designer reserves the right to amend and update these terms and conditions at anytime without prior warning.  Any web projects in progress will not be affected.

The Designer will only carry out work on behalf of a client where a signed contract and deposit have been received.

Web Design

It is the responsibility of the client to ensure that any materials submitted by them for their website comply with copyright requirements.

The Designer reserves the right to refuse any material of a copyrighted nature supplied by the client unless appropriate proof of permission is provided.

The contents of all websites and draft websites produced by the Designer are based on information and materials provided by the Client.

The Client contracts the Designer to provide the services detailed in the contract.

The website, graphics and programming code remain the property of the Designer until all outstanding monies due are paid in full.

The Client agrees to make available to the Designer, within an agreed time, any materials required for the construction or completion of the website.

The Designer cannot be held responsible for any delays in completing a website project due to the Client not providing or being late in providing the materials and information necessary to complete the website.

After the Client has agreed with or instructed the Designer on the content, style and layout required, prior to the commencement of the project, the Designer reserves the right to charge for any additional work resulting from changes requested by the Client to the content, style or layout of the website at the rate of £30 per hour.

If the client wishes to discontinue an agreement, any completed work over and above the value of the deposit must be paid for.


Deposits and Payments

A non refundable payment of 50% of the total cost is required for all web design projects when the web design work has been agreed.

This payment must be made within 10 days; a signed contract must be enclosed with this payment.

The outstanding balance must be paid on completion of the website to the client’s satisfaction and prior to the website going live.

All other payments for services provided must be made on receipt of invoice.

An unpaid invoice will be regarded as a late payment 30 days after the payment due date.

A late payment will be subject to an additional penalty charge of £20, plus a daily interest rate of 3% on the outstanding amount due.

If the Client fails to make any invoiced payments after 60 days the Designer reserves the right to close the account and pursue any outstanding payments through legal procedures.

In the event of a late payment of any kind, access to the related website may be denied and web pages removed.

Late Payments

We understand and will exercise our statutory right to claim interest and compensation for debt recovery costs under the late payment legislation if we are not paid according to agreed credit terms.

Accepted Methods of Payment

• Electronic Bank Transfer

Web Browsers

The Designer will test your website in Internet Explorer and Firefox and Google Chrome  web browsers.  There are other less well know browsers.  The Designer cannot guarantee how your site will appear in these browsers.

Web Hosting and Domain Names

Web Hosting accounts are renewd on an annual basis.

The Client must advise the Designer in writing if they do not wish to renew their hosting account when it expires, otherwise the account will be renewed following payment.  Late Payment terms apply.

.uk Domain names are renewed on a bi-annual basis.
